Megan Harvey 12 Months On

The 2022 Clive Mahony Bursary was awarded to Megan Harvey in May. We have kept in touch with Megan over the past 12 months, following her educational career. We were extremely delighted to hear from Megan over the christmas period, here is what she has been up to…

‘I am currently in my third year of my Agri-Business degree at Harper Adams University, which is my placement year. I am working within the rural team for Savills covering the Scottish Borders and Northumberland. It is a varied role where I am gaining so much experience. I am also working on the family farm in my free time.’

‘I was honoured to receive the Clive Mahony bursary, which has encouraged me to take opportunities. I joined in on a club exchange with Young Farmers, where we went up to Inverurie in Aberdeenshire. The weekend involved many farm tours, which varied from Barra Berries to Marshall Farms. It was great to experience other farmers operations. The remainder of the funds has supported me as I have established my own flock of sheep’.

‘Meadow Quality’s encouragement has been greatly appreciated’.

Megan’s passion for progressing in the agricultural industry didn’t go un-noticed in her application. It’s great to hear that this passion and drive has got her a fantastic placement within Savills rural team and the bursary money has been put to good use in  purchasing her own livestock. We wish Megan all the best in the future.
