Megan Harvey: Livestock Advocate and Clive Mahony Bursary Winner 2024
We are thrilled to announce that Megan Harvey, a self-described livestock sector advocate, has been awarded the Clive Mahony Bursary Award 2024, receiving a £250 bursary to support her studies.
Megan grew up on a beef and sheep farm in Herefordshire and now lives on her boyfriend’s dairy farm in South Wales, helping milk around 250 Holstein-Friesian cattle. She also works at a local abattoir, giving her valuable hands-on experience in meat production.

Advancing Education in Sustainable Food Production
Megan’s strong interest in cattle breeding and meat production inspired her to return to education. She is now studying an MSc in Sustainable and Efficient Food Production at Aberystwyth University.
She plans to use her bursary to purchase research resources, which she says will help her succeed in her studies. Her dedication and ambition perfectly reflect the purpose of the Clive Mahony Bursary Award 2024.
Applications for the 2025 Clive Mahony Bursary Award will reopen early next year. Make sure to follow us on social media to receive updates:
