We trade store cattle in both directions, which means when you sell we usually already know who is looking, and when you buy we know what is coming available. Sellers get more than one interested buyer, buyers get cattle described honestly.
What buyers ask about:
Weight, age, breed, how the cattle have been kept and what they have been fed. Cattle running as one even batch since weaning are worth more than the same cattle drawn from three sources, and the description should say so.
Timing?
Store cattle trade moves with grass and with feed. Selling into a rising trade beats selling into a full market, and your fieldsman watches that week to week across the country.
Health and TB status:
Be straight about vaccination, TB testing interval and any recent movements. It saves time and builds the reputation that gets your cattle sold again next year.
