Job Title: Livestock Administrator & Animal Welfare officer
Reports to: Calf Collection Centre Manager
Hours: Circa 20 Hours per week
The role is designed to provide support to the Calf Collection centre manager, Meadow Quality staff, and externally for Meadow Quality customers. The role will be part-time Monday to Friday (hours and days to be agreed) and requires flexibility on a regular basis, as the job will be multi-faceted. Your job title as Livestock Administrator & Animal Welfare Officer does not define or limit your employment, and the Company may require you to fulfil additional roles, other than those listed below. There may be occasional travel to other company sites or functions.
The job description for the Livestock Administrator role is:
- Daily contact with Chippenham Collection Centre manager and Field staff to maintain communication between the team, providing necessary liaison between both Field and Office.
- Facilitate all necessary information onto the companies IT system. Communicate any information back to the Fieldsman for him/her that may need updating.
- Main point of contact daily for phone calls and all other communications for Chippenham Calf Collection Centre
- Main point of contact on Calf Collection days to facilitate the movement of animals and their documentation in an efficient way.
- Maintain and update all necessary licenses that are mandatory for operating a calf collection centre. This will include inspections from overseeing bodies such as DEFRA, Red Tractor, and Trading Standards.
- Process livestock payments and invoices
- Communicate with customers and provide any information that fieldsmen need sending; marketing material, sire information, booking in forms etc…
- Contact lapsed customers, potentially set appointments for fieldsmen, if requested to.
- The role will include working with young animals and will best suit someone with empathy and energy in order to ensure that we continue to deliver high standards of animal welfare.
- The role is predominantly for support within the Chippenham Calf team, while being part of the wider Meadow Quality business that covers other calf collection and administration centres, and livestock operations across England and Wales.
