Weekly outlets:
Finished lambs and cull ewes move every week through both deadweight and liveweight routes. Having both means we can put your sheep where the money is that week rather than where we always send them.
Drawing lambs correctly:
Handling lambs and drawing to spec is the single biggest lever on the price you get. Overfat lambs are penalised and underfinished lambs kill light. Your fieldsman will help you draw if it is useful.
Cull ewes:
Cull ewes are worth marketing rather than dumping. Condition and timing move the price considerably, and the trade is not the same every week of the year.
Paperwork:
Consignments travel with the correct Food Chain Information form for the processor taking them. Current forms are on the Livestock Information Hub.
